Doula

A doula, also known as a birth companion, or birth coach is a non-medical person who stays to support and assists the birthing person and their partner before, during, and after childbirth, to provide emotional support and physical help when needed.

Birth Doula Services

As your doula, I am here to walk beside you through every step of pregnancy, birth, and those tender early days with your baby. My heart is to truly listen—to hear your hopes, honor your wishes, and help you feel confident and supported as you welcome your little one.

Whether your birth is natural, medicated, a VBAC, or a cesarean, I provide gentle, continuous care. I support families wherever they choose to birth—at home, in birth centers, or in hospitals—meeting you exactly where you are.

Before your baby arrives, we’ll spend time getting to know one another, talking about your vision for birth, and exploring the options available to you. I’ll share comfort techniques for pregnancy and labor so you feel prepared and reassured. You’ll be able to reach out to me by phone or text whenever you need a listening ear or guidance, saving the middle-of-the-night calls for the special moment when it’s truly baby day.

When your birthing time begins, I’ll be in touch as things progress and will join you when you’re ready—whether that’s in your home or at your birthing place. I’ll remain by your side, offering encouragement, comfort, and calm, through every wave and every change. After your baby is born, I’ll stay for a while to make sure you’re settled in, cozy, and nourished, and that your baby is content in your arms.

In the days that follow, I’ll visit again to check in on you and your family. We’ll talk through your birth experience, answer any newborn or breastfeeding questions, and make sure you feel supported as you step into this new chapter. My hope is that you feel cared for, heard, and never alone on this journey.

“Vanessa was such a solid support to have. She helped us navigate my pregnancy, delivery and postpartum and made me feel so confident in the decisions I was making for our family. Her ability to find resources and answer all of our questions was unmatched. I will forever appreciate the fact that I was able to achieve my ideal birth of our daughter because of all the support I received.
